Your Centrepay Guide
What is Centrepay?
Centrepay is a bill paying service, free for Centrelink customers, to have deductions made from a customer’s payment directly to your business. Use Centrepay to arrange regular deductions from your Centrelink payment to pay your energy bills.
You can start /change, suspend, or cancel at any time. The quickest way to do it is through your Centrelink account online.
Helpful information to manage your bills
Regularly checking your bills is a crucial step, as your deduction may not always cover the full cost of your bills. Should the bill amount exceed the payments deductions, this indicates you may need to adjust your deduction amount or arrange for another payment option.
Changing your deduction amount is easy, reach out to us or contact Services Australia (Centrelink) for assistance.
Credit on your account
If your fortnightly deduction is higher than your actual bills, you may build up a Centrepay credit on your account, this will be shown on your bill. If your account credits get too high, we will reach out to let you know.
Please note you can change or cancel payment deductions at any time. The quickest way to do it is through your Centrelink account online.
Your Payment Reference Number
If you set up or change your deduction via Services Australia, it is important that your payment reference number is correct so the payment can be allocated accurately.
Should you have more than one GloBird Energy account, each account will have a different payment reference number.
Your GloBird reference number is located in the ‘How to Pay’ section on your bill.
Unauthorised payments
If we receive any payments from an unauthorised person who is not listed on the account, we will let you know to add that person to the account. If we do not hear from you, the money will be sent back to Centrelink within 5 business days.
